The Sunshine Skills Hub will prepare individuals for the unpredictable future of work, a place where the physical and digital worlds converge.
The Skills Hub will provide flexible training solutions that focus on developing the skills industry demand. Skills that involve a blend of creative thinking, problem solving, collaboration, and specialist technical skills in emerging fields such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), 3D Printing, drone surveying, construction robotics, data analytics, e.health and cybersecurity.
The Skills Hub will foster entrepreneurial thinking and connect a diverse group of key players from industry, education and the community who collaboratively come together to solve real industry challenges.
The building has been funded by, The Ian Potter Foundation, Victorian Government’s Department of Education and Training and Victoria University. Architectural firm Woods Bagot have designed the building with ADCO Constructions appointed as the lead builder.
Provides creators with access to state-of-the-art facilities and modern technology that will support entrepreneurial thinking, ideation and prototyping as it relates to solving industry problems. Technology will include the latest in robotics, 3D printing, drones and industry standard software.
Our practical, hands on approach to training responds directly to industry requirements, with courses created with key partners including hospitals, disability services, and a wide range of community organizations. The Sunshine Skills Hub features a world class nursing simulation lab and specialist teaching spaces that replicate real-world environments, ensuring students are learning the latest technology and trends in the industry.
With a strong emphasis on real-world learning, The Sunshine Skills Hub is designed to replicate best practice in the delivery of early childhood and paramedical education. Featuring simulated working environments that emulate the workplace, students will be equipped with the knowledge and skills transition smoothly between training, placement and future career.
The Sunshine Skills Hub will play a vital role in the upskilling and reskilling for the jobs of the future in our nation’s digital economy and will provide opportunities for young and mature-age learners across Melbourne’s thriving western suburbs.
